For gigs it IS kind of overkill, but then most venues and bands appreciate the opportunity to get a bit of good quality footage of their event.

We bought this of an award-winning war photographer as he said it was just too big to be inconspicuous when he travelled - it made him look like a journailist, so he converted over to a tiny Sony hi-def, but he told us he really misses this camera. No wonder, it's a beauty.
